Persiskin is a Spanish company, that has developed a unique vegan skin, based on persimmon fruit waste and with more than 75% of natural matter.
They asked to design and produce a vegan sneaker with this material in order to demonstrate that it is possible to make a footwear product with extremely high vegetal material content that delivers the same quality (resistance, durability and aspect) as animal leather or PVC.
We started this project by sketching and creating a 3D design of the sneaker.
We also created a label for the shoe’s tongue and, after approval by the client, we began developing the sample.
Throughout the process, we gave special attention to the vegan material we were testing, making the most of its characteristics and aiming to achieve a final model that had the same resistance, durability, and appearance as animal leather.
