Ration.L is a vegan trainer brand that is Gender-Neutral. They seek footwear comfortable for your feet made with organic, recycled and vegan materials.
They asked us to create a sneaker using a material made of recycled tennis balls, keeping all main features of the brand.
The journey began with our client’s idea: to create a sneaker from recycled tennis balls, transforming discarded materials into something new and meaningful.
Inspired by this challenge, our designers engineered the sneaker’s upper to feature the distinct look and feel of recycled felt, while also providing the necessary lateral support for active movement.
Our process was hands-on and iterative. We developed and tested a series of prototypes, using each round of feedback to fine-tune the fit, elevate comfort, and optimize performance on and off the court.
When the core design was perfected, we entered the sampling stage to rigorously assess durability, structure, and responsiveness. Every detail was examined to make sure the sneakers stood up to our standards and the expectations of future wearers.
With validation complete, we moved into production. We carefully managed material selection, quality controls, and sustainability benchmarks to remain true to the project’s original vision.
To complete the experience, we designed custom packaging and added a distinctive engraving to each pair, ensuring that every aspect of the sneaker reflected our commitment to innovation and responsible design.
